US National Forests
US National Forests
About this project.
This project gives us the opportunity to plant more trees on public land from coast to coast! Since we have so many projects planned for National Forests, your tree will be planted in an area in which the United States Forest Service needs it most.
Location
Across the United States of America
Project Type
Restoration and reforestation of native trees across national forests in the United States
Environmental Benefits
- Carbon sequester
- Alleviate climate change
- Habitat conservation
- Improve local water quality
- Soil retention
Each project is carefully vetted to make sure they reduce carbon, restore wildlife and support local communities.
About US National Forests
The United States Forest Service (USFS) - an agency of the US Department of Agriculture - manages more than 150 national forests across 43 states.
More projects we support.
Senegal
46.7% of Senegal’s population lives below the poverty line. We’re focusing on the reforestation of Fatick, a town of about 25,000 in western Senegal.
California
Devastated by wild fires this year, California needs our help now more than ever. We’re planting trees in the Plumas National Forest to help recoup the 65,000 acres burned in the 2007 Moonlight Fire.
Madagascar
Madagascar is a nation with over 200,000 species of plants and animals that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. But more than 90% of original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species and taking away the Malagasy’s ability to farm and live on the land.
Haiti
Haiti is the world’s 3rd hungriest country, and only 2% of the country’s original forests remain.
Pacific NW Orca Project
Planting trees along rivers and streams of the Pacific Northwest restores habitat for the endangered orca. Trees help reduce pollution and improve the health and quantity of salmon for the orca to eat!
Appalachia
Planting trees here will benefit nearby communities as hydrological function will be improved, thus providing them with better quality water. This project also creates meaningful jobs in communities suffering from high rates of poverty and unemployment.
We support projects that connect us all regardless of background, race, religion, beliefs, or economic situation. Join The Carbon Offset Company, grow your legacy, and make a difference.
